Thanks friend, I hope you are well. Sorry I haven't been here for a while but hubby and I are seeing each other through all our health issues, sort of like the blind leading the blind. My fear is what happens when there's just one of us left. Such is life I guess when one reaches this age.
It suddenly dawned on me I was spending my last 24 hours with my mom 7 years ago at this time, listening to her breathing, hoping the last breath wouldn't be the last, all the while praying to God to take her peacefully, without struggle because she wouldn't want to live this way, paralyzed and blinded by the stroke. What a struggle of emotions!
Tonight as I was flipping through an old cookbook, a slip of paper fell to my feet. There it was, her recipe for homemade yeast rolls written in her oh so familiar handwriting! An ADC, you think? I instantly pictured her hands working that dough and making out each roll and placing them on the pan to rise. Could almost smell and taste them!
