Maryann, Im sorry your friend is so ill and I hope when her time comes it will be a peaceful passing for her.
I too have heard that piercing sound in my right ear but never had wake me up or last as long as yours did. I often wonder if a loved one is close also. the ringing only last for a few seconds and then its gone.
This time of year. is so sad, at least I feel that way. I miss all the ones who have gone on before including my pets. I find myself going thru crying jags and I get quite annoyed with myself.
