I have just finished reading Hello from Heaven, I lost my wife mid April 2021 after nearly 39 years together, 35 1/2 years married.
I was unable to sleep in our bed for 2 nights after her loss, but the first night I did was restless. I was awoken at midnight on the dot by her bedside radio, the alarm of which had not been switched on since her retirement in December 2019. The radio played the intro to the Beatles song In My Life. About 2 - 3 months before her death, my wife had bought a poster symbolising our life and love and with those song lyrics on the poster. I didn’t know she had bought it until after her passing, when I found it in a spare room. She had been telling me since she bought it that she had a poster she wanted to get framed but I didn’t know what it was at the time.
That song was used in her funeral service as it suddenly had a deep meaning to me.
She had also,bought a canvas a few months before with our names and marriage date in bold, with the Ed Sherman song Perfect lyrics in the background set on musical chords. It’s like she had a premonition of what was to come and left me a treasure trove of memories just in case.
I know I will see her again: she is my soulmate and love of my life |
