Wow....The bruise on the arm is a wow. It means he was visiting you for real, not just in the dream.
I can relate to much of what you shared... One particular dream I had (which was positive. They always are.) confused me so much that I was SURE that my friend, Gregory, was still alive and that I had dreamed that he had DIED.
That feeling of not being sure of what was real and what was the dream still stays with me and it's been 15 years now.
