Golden Heart

God saw him getting tired
and a cure was not meant to be,
So he put his arms around him
and whispered "Come to Me".
With tearful eyes we watched him,
as we saw him pass away.
Although we loved him deeply,
we could not make him stay.
His Golden Heart stopped beating,
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.

My Daddy was a 2nd generation blacksmith who raised myself and 4 sisters. His heart was so big and always treated us with love and respect. I miss his hugs and laughter. The pain might fade but never will his memory. He was the greatest man I ever knew.
