Subject: A very sweet ADC
Quick recap of two of the four very weird sudden deaths of young people in our family in the last four years.

My sister's son, Mel, age 32, died in an accident on June 30, 2006. His funeral was on July 3, 2006, my son, Stevie B's 33rd birthday. On 2/12/07 my son was in a fatal car accident. He died on Mel's birthday.

A few months ago, my niece, Marjie's (Mel's sister) company decided to create a recipe book for a fundraiser. She shared the recipe for no bake cookies that she and Mel made together. She is fairly new to the company and didn't share that her brother was gone, she just said they had lots of fun making these cookies.

Marjie got engaged to a wonderful man just last week. We love him and he was a friend to Mel. On June 30th, the recipe book came out. Marjie just couldn't go to work that day, it was too sad for her.

When she came to work on July 1st she found a plate of no bake cookies. There was a card that said "Congratulations on your engagement, Love, Mel"

You can imagine her surprise! A few hours later a lady from her company walked into Marjie's office and said that her son had made the cookies and there were some left over. This lady thought it would be fun to share the rest with Marjie and Mel.

This lady had no idea that Mel had died. Marjie shared that her brother had died and the lady of course, just didn't know what to say.

Marjie told her that these cookies, along with the note she left, was a very precious gift from her brother. This lady had no inkling about how that little plate of cookies would affect our entire family. Marjie thanked her for being so thoughtful. She told her how helpful it is for us who have lost loved ones to be given the opportunity to talk for just a few moments about our grief.

I know this was an ADC blessing from Mel, letting Marjie know that her upcoming marriage has his total support. It's also a message to take a second and be kind to others.

Take Care my friends,

Linda
