| As a child the one common denominator I had with my mother was a love for music. We sang Whitney Houston songs on karaoke machines, in the car, while cooking dinner. Our favorite song was Saving all my love for you. My mother passed away June of 2021. My brother always claimed she visited him in his dreams, or during the day he'd sense her near. I wondered why not me? It wasn't until I needed her the most, I felt alone, and I believe she somehow knew it. One evening I was driving home, thinking of her with tears in my eyes, when suddenly my radio starts to malfunction. Static consumes the airwaves, then a country station begins playing a Whitney Houston song, not just any A Whitney Houston song, our song, Saving all my love for you.I smiled with my entire heart. Several times after, the same has happened. Only when I am deeply saddened, and I suppose yearning for the comfort of my mother. |
