I believe I misinterpreted your post as I thought the nightmares were from people you loved. I apologize for that.
I don't seem to have nightmares about people I dislike. I believe it might be even more painful to get them about someone you love, as they denigrate what you think is a wonderful relationship by casting it in a terrible way, worse than it ever was in "real life".
If you look at it from my point of view, I would say do your best to simply ignore these dreams and try not to think about them. That is telling the other person that he/she does not have any power over me and that I want nothing to do with you, either here or in the afterlife.
