Is it possible that the soul can pass before the body dies? It certainly seems quite likely in Grace's case.
Even if Grace overdid it by hugging too hard, it certainly seems that she loves you very much and was very determined to let you know that! I believe you can take great comfort from Grace's communication, even if the hug itself was not very comfortable!
I've had "overdone" ADC's. as one was so loud and startling, I must have jumped three feet up in my bed! Just a tribute to their love and determination.
