While listening to Christmas music, a song I have heard hundreds of times when suddenly a line resonated with me. "My dear we're still goodbye-ing, but as long as you love me so, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. The part "But, as long as you love me so," really got my attention. Years ago my husband use to jokingly ask, "do you love me?" And I would say, "yes I do." Then we would say, "do you really?" (teasing me) And I would say "of course I do!" I was thinking about this when I went out to the mailbox and a man that was working at my neighbor's house looked in my direction and called Bob. When I looked at him questioningly, he said sorry, I was calling my co-worker. (Bob is my husband's name, so I thought maybe that was his way of getting my attention.) |
