You made me smile with the "not knowing the dog word for pee pee".... Milo will learn YOUR word and as Teresa said, he will learn as many as 200 words from you if you are consistent. (I actually believe our dogs know more than that!)
Pick a word like you said -- "pee-pee" and stick to it. (We use the word "potty"). We also use the word "outside" a lot....Little dogs I believe are smarter than the larger breeds, much like our horses. The minis and ponies catch on faster than full sized horses.
Dogs are also very sensitive to your tone of voice and body language. For example....My daughter moved back home with her large pitty mixed dog. We weren't sure how it was going to go, but he's a love-bug. My husband tells him in a crooning loving voice, "You're a big black ugly thing!" And Loki LOVES IT! |
