Subject: Father's Day ADC and a Humble Request
Dear Friends,

I have a bit of an update along with a Father’s Day ADC to share.

First, thank you to (((CATH))), (((Denise))), (((Teresa))), (((Donnie’s Carole))), (((Josie’s-angel))), (((Linda))) and (((Juanita))) for keeping me in your prayers. I mentioned that I was contemplating leaving my job and I was able to find the courage to do so. It was an extremely difficult decision, but the right one for me.

Today, I took my mom out for a drive and as we were heading for the highway, the white truck beside us had the logo of “Frank’s” on it- I looked at the clock and the time was 12:31. The number 231 is significant for me- it is my number that appears everywhere. It represents Psalm 23.1, “The Lord is my Shepherd” and is the psalm we had printed on my Dad’s prayer card. My Dad’s name is Francisco, he’d often be called “Frank”, so the logo was significant. I haven’t received an ADC in quite a while, so I was feeling blessed today- it happened after we’d left a bouquet of flowers from our garden on my Dad’s resting place.

I also wanted to thank you for encouraging me to write and have started to put some words down on paper. The first thing I am starting on is a book that will honour and remember our loved ones.

Losing someone it is a life-changing experience as we all know. Sometimes we don’t get to say goodbye, or don’t get to say the goodbye we imagined. Often, the lack of closure adds to the heartache we feel and prolongs our grief. I am putting together a collection of letters written to a loved one that has been lost and written by those of us who stayed behind; you can think of them as “letters to heaven”.

This book is meant to be an opportunity to say that goodbye, to ask for forgiveness, to forgive, to strengthen those bonds, or simply to memorialize those special relationships. I hope that the end result will be a book that will heal, teach and above all, be about never-ending love. If you would like to participate, or know someone who might be interested (please forward this note to them), you can email me at snapdragonfly@live.com and I will send the details of how you can be a part of this special project. I can respond in English, Portuguese and French. It would be lovely to have some notes from you for my collection, I feel as if I know many of your loved ones personally, from the ADCs and stories you have shared.

I am intentionally sending this request out on Father’s Day in honour of my Dad, Francisco, who I carry within my heart every second of every day.

Brightest Blessings to all of you,
Love,
Snapdragon

PS- for those of you who have Facebook, perhaps you can share this note on your page as well and ask others to do the same.
