I agree that it is really a treat to wake up to that utter silence of new-fallen snow in the early morning. Amazing how snow muffles the sounds and noises! Unless you've experienced it, you just don't "know" about it, do you? :)
Where I grew up -- in central Texas -- I didn't have one good snowfall until I was about 23 or 24. Just got spits and sputters of snow.
Pretty neat living in the Panhandle now. We often get those really "good" snows that make it so quiet and beautiful!
